Jules Bauer

Certified Death Doula & Founder of A Guiding Light

Hi, I am Jules Bauer, The founder of A Guiding Light and a Certified International Death Doula. My calling to this work comes from a deep place within me-a lifelong desire to serve others with an open heart, to hold space for life’s most sacred transitions, and to remind people they are never alone.

From an early age, I felt drawn to the mysteries of life and death. I have had the profound honor of sitting with individuals as they make their final transition, offering presence, comfort and love in these tender moments. These experiences have shaped me, reinforcing my belief that every person deserves to be seen, heard, and held with grace as they journey home.

My role as a death doula is not just a profession-it is a calling. I approach this work with a servant’s spirit, meeting each individual where they are with respect for their beliefs, fears, and desires. I am committed to holding a neutral space for all regardless of race, religion or economic standing.

When I am not holding space for others I find solace and renewal in nature. I cherish my time deep in the Ozark Mountains with my husband and four children, embracing the beauty and stillness of the natural world. Homesteading, preparing nourishing meals, building my apothecary, dancing and somatic movement are just a few of my love languages.

I look forward to getting to know you and walking this path together.

Maya Powell

Sound Healer and Leader of Eureka Springs Kirtans

Maya Powell is the leader of Eureka Springs Kirtans. This group has traveled the four state area, bringing joy and freedom to those who participate in chanting the mantras.

What is a mantra? A mantra is a prayer that is repeated over and over. Some mantras are thousands of years old. Each time they are chanted, more power is infused in the words. A mantra can help us release our fears and anxieties. They can help us heal from our past. They can help us to become peaceful and to release what no longer serves us. It is possible to even experience ecstasy in this setting.

This type of experience can shift a loved one into a space of Ease and Grace, preparing them for their next chapter beyond the veil.

Doug Powell

Owner of Eden’s Light Sanctuary

Doug and Maya Powell are the owners and operators of Eden’s Light Sanctuary.  They offer retreats focused on service in loving humanity, singing devotional songs, and sound journeys. Our universe and everything in it is made up from vibration.  Edgar Cayce said that sound and vibration would be our medicine of the future.  Everyone experiences the sound differently.  Many people report back a physical or emotional healing; while others describe the journey as slightly hypnotic and traveling to some familiar place within themselves.

Sound therapy is very useful for a loved one transitioning. To set up an environment that is sacred and peaceful is a beautiful way to help someone step over the threshold into their next chapter.
